King Danylo University

King Danylo University is a young (founded in 1997) university headquartered in Ivano-Frankivsk (western part of Ukraine). Number of our students is 4500+ with 200 academic staff.  Currently, King Danylo University offers education at three possible levels (Bachelor, Master and PhD) at the following thematic areas: Construction and civil engineering, Architecture and urban planning, Software engineering, Design, Hotel-restaurant business, Tourism, Entrepreneurship, trade and stock market, Accounting and taxation, Finance, banking and insurance, Law, Philology, Journalism, Advertising and public relations, Musical art,  Theology. 

KDU follows own Internationalization strategy is becoming active in international cooperation on the selected thematic areas. During Autumn-Winter 2022 we have applied for several calls for projects under Erasmus+ and H2020 programs, signed cooperation agreements with universities from UK, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Czech Republic, Latvia, Slovakia etc.

Role in the project:

KDU conducting comprehensive technical and economic feasibility studies to explore the replication of the LuxHyVal model in Ukraine, utilizing insights and lessons learned from Luxembourg to inform the development process. Using a digital twin simulation tool, KDU will identify a suitable site in Ukraine with good grid connection, proximity to renewable energy sources, and existing hydrogen demand (e.g., the Karpatnaftokhim chemical plant). Based on the feasibility study and site evaluation, KDU will prepare a proposal to secure funding from the EU or other sources to make the Ukrainian hydrogen valley a reality.
